I Got Hired: Florence

Posted on: 19 November 2024 by Ruby O'Sullivan in Class of 2023

Florence Lendon-Montrose is a BA History and Ancient History and MA in Sustainable Heritage Management graduate who now works as a Heritage Consultant at Orion Heritage.

How did you hear about your role and decide to apply for it?

I found my current role via Handshake and looking out for university emails – I wanted to work in the heritage industry and this role seemed ideal.

How did you get to where you are now?

My MA included a placement at National Museums Liverpool, where I worked on the Historic Dockside Buildings portion of their Waterfront Regeneration Project. This helped me gain real life experience in the heritage industry. I also had super supportive lecturers, who also helped me with tips on where to access heritage job listings.

Your favourite experience?

I loved the course visits to heritage sites - visiting the newly renovated Stanley docks site, for example.

The most challenging part of your graduate journey?

Getting to grasps with new content matter and a new subject (architecture).

Graduate Outcomes Survey

The Graduate Outcomes survey exists to improve the experience of future students. All graduates are asked to share their perspectives 15 months after they finish their course, to build a national picture that UK universities and colleges use to innovate their services. League tables, Prospects and The Complete University Guide use our Graduate Outcomes data to help students make decisions about their future.
