Posted on: 20 November 2024 by Ruby O'Sullivan in Class of 2023

Daniel Brannan is a Class of 2023 BEng Aerospace Engineering with Pilot Studies graduate who now works as a Flight Dynamics and Certification Engineer at Britten-Norman Aerospace.

How did you hear about your role and decide to apply for it?

I completed my third year individual project in collaboration with Britten-Norman and became aware of graduate opportunities available at the company.

How did you get to where you are now?

Work experience at Liverpool University Air Squadron really helped, as did creating good relations with fellow employees and lecturers whilst at university.

Your favourite experience?

Completing the flight test programme on one of our BN2T-4S aircraft to certify the embodiment of a 5G antenna on the aircraft underbelly.

The most challenging part of your graduate journey?

Gaining initial employment after graduate was the toughest challenge.

Top 3 Tips for current students and graduates:

  1. Gain work experience whilst completing your degree - whether that is a summer placement or year in industry.
  2. Be a well rounded student by talking part in a society or sport, as it gives you something to talk about in interviews.
  3. Give yourself adequate time to research a company you are interviewing for.

Graduate Outcomes Survey

The Graduate Outcomes survey exists to improve the experience of future students. All graduates are asked to share their perspectives 15 months after they finish their course, to build a national picture that UK universities and colleges use to innovate their services. League tables, Prospects and The Complete University Guide use our Graduate Outcomes data to help students make decisions about their future.
