How did you hear about your role and decide to apply for it?
I heard about my role by researching law firms around my home town area. The firm offered training contracts covering a wide areas of law so I decided to apply.
How did you get to where you are now?
The opportunities at the University of Liverpool definitely strengthened my applications for example being involved in the University’s Law Clinic. I also did work experience during my time at university. I didn’t secure a vacation scheme but I reached out to all the firms in Liverpool and secured a one week work placement at Napthens. There were so many parts of my Law degree that I enjoyed at Liverpool which motivated me to pursue a career in Law.
Your favourite experience as part of your role?
My favourite part of this role is getting to try different areas of the Law to see which one suits me best. Also getting to learn how a firm operates is really insightful and very different to being at university!
The most challenging part of your graduate journey?
The most challenging part is accepting you do not know everything yet. It is really easy to put pressure on yourself and want to be as great as a fully qualified professional straight away. However, it is important to remember everyone started in your position.
Top 3 Tips for current students and graduates:
