The Professional Graduate Programme is designed to support the growth and development of recent graduates. It is tailored to help graduates develop the skills, competencies, and experience needed to thrive in the world of work.

About the Programme

Congratulations on your new graduate role. To ensure you get off to the best start in your career, we invite you to participate in the Professional Graduate Programme (PGP). This programme is specifically designed for recent graduates and delivered by the Careers and Employability Team at the University of Liverpool, in partnership with businesses across the Liverpool City Region (LCR).

You’ll benefit from engaging workshops, industry insights, and a growing network of professionals as you embark on this exciting journey.

Key Information

  • Duration: 6 sessions over 12 weeks
  • Location: All sessions are in-person at the University of Liverpool campus.
  • Session Times: Fridays from 9 am to 12 pm.

The PGP offers:

  • A professional learning experience provided by the University of Liverpool.
  • Training on key topics designed to accelerate personal development.
  • Networking opportunities with local businesses and fellow graduates.
  • Access to valuable digital tools and career resources.

Programme Dates & Themes

 

  • Personal Brand: 20 September
    Learn how to develop and communicate your personal brand, identify your strengths, and create an impactful online presence.
  • Career Confidence: 4 October
    Overcome imposter syndrome by recognizing its triggers and adopting effective coping strategies.
  • Working Collaboratively: 18 October
    Develop communication skills, build trust, and understand team dynamics to enhance collaboration.
  • Managing Workload: 1 November
    Master workload and project management through prioritization, role allocation, and execution strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management: 15 November
    Learn to manage stakeholders by developing persuasion skills, building beneficial relationships, and implementing effective strategies.
  • Growing Your Network: 29 November
    Understand the importance of networking and learn strategies to expand your professional circle.

Celebration Event: 29 November (from 12 pm onwards)
After the final session, join us for a networking lunch to celebrate your achievements and connect with key industry professionals.

What We Expect from Participants

To maximize your learning and development, we ask all participants to commit to:

  • Punctuality: Arrive on time for all sessions.
  • Engagement: Be eager to learn and collaborate with your peers.
  • Attendance: Attend all six sessions.
  • Personal Growth: Dedicate yourself to your professional development.
  • Communication: Ask questions and seek support when needed.

We provide a supportive learning environment with interactive, hands-on workshops, guest speakers, and facilitators. All participants will receive access to learning materials after each session and have opportunities to engage with the content.


Learning Materials

All materials will be shared in digital format to ensure accessibility. Prior to each session, you’ll receive any necessary preparation materials. Our facilitators and guest speakers will provide valuable tips and insights throughout the programme.
