Tackling climate change and establishing
sustainable living and an environmental balance
are essential activities. They are grand global
challenges that drive research and innovation at
the University of Liverpool.
The consequences of climate change for
ecosystems, health, infrastructure, and
sustainability figure high on political, economic
and social agendas.
The University is pushing an agenda to cope
with this uncertain future which will certainly
affect nearly all aspects of how we, and future
generations, live our lives. We are working with
local, national and international partners to play
our part in informing communities of good
environmental practice and facilitating the
growth of the ‘green’ and ‘low carbon’ economy.
Research at the University of Liverpool brings
together interdisciplinary expertise from science,
engineering, life sciences, archaeology, social
sciences and the arts, to pose new questions
about climate change and promote further
debate among policy-makers and members
of the public on environmental issues affecting
the planet.
