Kissileff Laboratory for the Study of
Human Ingestive Behaviour

Part of the Liverpool Obesity Research Network, and is specifically
designed for the study of human appetite and ingestive behaviour
to determine, in a controlled environment, what influences human
appetite, food choices and food intake. The Laboratory provides a
comprehensive suite of test facilities, including a research kitchen,
assessment room, two testing rooms, an energy balance lab, wet
lab and a social eating lab. Laboratory specialists and academic
experts are able to undertake a variety of commercial projects.
SuperSTEM Laboratory

Based at Daresbury Laboratory and equipped with two
SuperSTEM microscopes, both of which minimise spherical
aberration. The Laboratory has undertaken studies for national
research centres and companies as diverse as Qinetiq, Pilkington,
Johnson Matthey and the Diamond Trading Company. Working
with businesses, it has undertaken many collaborative projects,
for example to resolve issues posed by the conversion of gases
to liquid hydrocarbons, and to ascertain the source of colour in
diamonds to inform the development of new methods of identifying
their signature characteristics.
