The Language of Trust and Risk

Events and research activities around this theme will lead us to examine the ways in which issues of trust and risk are framed and debated through language and discourse processes. These include the discursive-rhetorical construction of trust, ethos and reputation in different communicative genres and practices; issues of trust in digital media and online interactions; the communication of risk (e.g. in health communication); linguistic manifestations of risk and cyber-security issues; the (critical) analysis of persuasion strategies for trust.
