Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowships at the School of Arts, University of Liverpool

The School of the Arts at the University of Liverpool invites expressions of interest for the 2020 Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship scheme. These awards offer opportunities for outstanding early career researchers to strengthen their experience of research and teaching in a university environment – further information, including eligibility criteria, can be found on the Leverhulme Trust website.

Based within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, The School of the Arts consists of five departments – School of Architecture, Department of Communication and Media, Department of English, Department of Music, and Department of Philosophy – each of which benefit from the University’s international links, its campuses in Liverpool and London, and produce world-leading and internationally excellent research. Our aim is to achieve and maintain the highest standard in research excellence while pursuing fruitful civic engagements, collaborative relationships and opportunities for knowledge exchange.

Those interested in applying for a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship are invited to submit expressions of interest to the Research & Impact Team at sotares@liverpool.ac.uk, by Monday 9th December 2019, consisting of:

  • The completed Leverhulme ECF Expression of Interest pro-forma
  • CV (2 pages max)
  • A list of publications (1 page max – (include forthcoming publications)

The School Research Teams will notify selected candidates of the outcome by the 13th January 2020. All shortlisted candidates will then be invited to attend a Faculty workshop in Liverpool on Wednesday 22nd January 2020, 11am – 1pm, which will include presentations and advice about the scheme.

Following the workshop, candidates will be asked to submit their fully developed application outline for final peer-review and selection by a cross-Faculty panel by Friday 31st January 2020. The final application deadline to the Leverhulme Trust with support from the University of Liverpool is the 24th February 2020. This deadline has been set up 3 days before the Leverhulme deadline to allow time for the organisation approval by the Schools Research Support Teams and the University’s central Research Support Office prior to final submission to the Trust.
