Frank Horton was trained as a sociologist at Nottingham after National Service in the RAF. He came to the Liverpool School of Architecture to work in a housing research team headed by Frank Jones. Frank Horton was subsequently appointed lecturer and taught the urban studies module alongside Professor Simon Pepper, which ran for many years. Professor Pepper recalls Frank as ‘a great teacher and a very interesting person’. Frank sadly died rather suddenly soon after his early retirement.
The Frank Horton Prize is awarded to MArch design projects incorporating ‘intriguing connections’.
