LSA visit to the Venice Architecture Biennial
Students of design studios 3 and 4 from the 3d year in BA(hons) have recently completed a three day visit to the Venice Biennial, amongst one of the most important architectural events world wide. Students had the chance to visit the "fundamentals" exhibition curated by star architect Rem Koolhaas, along side to the state pavilions in the Giardini and Arsenale exhibitions fields. A highlight of the trip was the two hour seminar, part of the Biennale session organised by Asterios Agkathidis and Sandy Britton, where students and staff had a critical debate about this year's highlights and low points. The open access event, held in the Arsenale's seminar room attracted many passing visitors which joined our discussion and allowed a vivid dialogue to emerge. Students will use the trip to inform their latest Studio Projects and will exhibit their highlights in a dedicated presentation within the school.
