WHite heard man standing on a balcony thoughtfully looking out at a block of flats. In the foreground are houseplants and two hybrid lamb bananas.

It is with deep sadness that we bring you the news that our teacher, friend and colleague Dave King has passed away aged 86 after a brief illness. Dave was the designer of the "Tardis" - the 1989 "hi-tech" extension of the School – aka the Stirling Gallery, and was central to architectural and urban regeneration of Liverpool and the Northwest with his association with a number of architectural practices, including the most known, shedkm.

He was always interested in the School of Architecture and collaborated with many of its graduates.  We know many staff worked closely with him over his long involvement with the school up until very recent times, and will have fond and funny memories of his extraordinary talent.

The school’s thoughts are with Dave’s family.
