Applications open for MSc Global Housing Design
Applications are now being accepted for the Liverpool School of Architecture’s MSc in Global Housing Design, which launches in September 2025.
This exciting new programme will offer an advanced architectural design course for future designers, policy makers and researchers. It is international in its outlook, providing a critical overview of housing issues in different metropolitan contexts.
An optional semester in London enables you to take advantage of the capital as one such context, with its unique offering of exemplary housing projects, practices and development models.
Who we’re looking for
This programme is ideal for skilled architects who have an enthusiastic vision of housing and future urbanities.
You will normally need a 2:1 MArch degree (RIBA Part II) from a UK university or overseas qualification of an equivalent standard, although applicants with a BA Architecture (minimum 2:1) or equivalent may also be accepted if relevant work experience can be demonstrated.

As the first UK university to award a RIBA-accredited degree, the Liverpool School of Architecture has a long and proud tradition as a pioneer of architectural education. We are an internationally recognised centre for architectural and built environment research. We performed very well in the last Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021), with 100% of our research impact rated as outstanding (4*) or very considerable (3*).
Our housing research group, led by the MSc Global Housing Design team, collaborates with colleagues worldwide to produce research with an international outlook, and has exhibited at the International Sao Paolo and the Venice Architecture Biennales.
