For one week only, we celebrate the work of our 23/24 BA Architecture students. Around Abercromby Square, a pop-up exhibition of design projects is on display. For the design course, we divide into several studio groups, each with its own unique design agenda. For 23/24 these were Climate Cultures Studio, RE-heritage, Studio Pen + Inc, Practice North, Studio 5 and Studio NOW.

Many projects were located in Liverpool and the surrounding city region, which provided a challenging testbed of architectural ideas, for example designing an Institute of Production in the Fabric District, a College of Art and Design in the Georgian Quarter, a Performance Space on the waterfront as well as a Multi-Function Cultural and Community Hub in Huyton centre. Additionally, projects extended further afield via an Extension to the Weltkulturen Museum in Frankfurt and a Heritage Training and Interpretation Centre in Sardinia, offering opportunities to develop designs in a range of contexts. We also offered field trips to Bilbao and the Basque Country, Copenhagen, Milan, and Venice for the Biennale, allowing students to engage with architecture and urban design outside of the studio setting, as well as offering a chance to build stronger connections with each other.

The selected projects featured in the exhibition are testament to the hard work of our six BA3 design studios across the previous academic year. If you would like to see more work from our BA students, please visit the Virtual LSA Website, where you can also see the work of our MArch students

The projects are on display on Abercromby Square from Friday 20th September for one week.

Special thanks to the technical team at the LSA for their assistance preparing the pop-up show.
