Liverpool School of Architecture to launch MSc Global Housing Design

The Liverpool School of Architecture (LSA) will launch its MSc in Global Housing Design in September 2025, offering an advanced architectural design course for future designers, policy makers and researchers.

This exciting new programme will equip graduates with a global understanding of housing production, culture and politics. It aims to provide a critical overview of housing issues in different metropolitan contexts – including London, where students can spend an optional semester.

The research-led, interdisciplinary curriculum will prepare students to re-envision the city, its homes and its inhabitants, and to re-think housing for future urbanities.

LSA is an internationally-recognised centre for architectural and built environment research, and this new master’s programme capitalises on its expertise in housing.

Academics from the School collaborate with colleagues around the world to produce research with an international outlook through the ‘How do we live?’ project, and have exhibited at the International Sao Paolo and the Venice Architecture Biennales.

The MSc Global Housing Design is led by experienced architects and lecturers Jocelyn Froimovich and Johanna Muszbek, who, collectively, have worked for the likes of Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Steven Holl Architects, Bernard Tschumi and Weiss/Manfredi.

“We are excited to welcome future leaders to the School, and work with them through this proactive new programme to confront urban housing crises across the world”, commented Jocelyn Froimovich.

Applications for the MSc in Global Housing Design will open in Autumn 2024. Visit the website for further information about the programme.
