The port of Holyhead has huge potential to develop and benefit the transport industry; however the town centre has been completely bypassed and forgotten. This has had a detrimental effect on the area and led to a decline in the local economy.
Through a projected increase in port traffic (both passenger and freight), we wanted to increase the use of the town and allow the area to grow on the benefits this increased trade would bring. Creating a service town for the passengers and visitors would give a greater use to the area and attract people to spend a little longer before their departure to Ireland.
What is the best way to persuade someone to spend more time in an area they are driving through? Provide what they want: hotels, entertainment, attractions all with practicality of accessibility and to fit in with their limited visiting times. Stay an hour and have quick bite to eat, stay a day and visit the surrounding tours and beauty spots. All easy to access and all provided within “Holyhead Service Town”.
