Equality, diversity and inclusion
In the Department of Archaeology, Classics, and Egyptology, we delve into the diversity and complexity of human experiences. Our research spans early human groups to ancient Mediterranean, North African, and Eurasian societies, providing insights that inform our present understanding. Curiosity, empathy, and sensitivity guide our engagement with ancient peoples and contemporary issues.
Our community is enriched by the diversity in backgrounds, experiences, and identities of our members. Together, we are committed to widening opportunities and fostering a safe and supportive environment where everyone can thrive. Our departmental Committee for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) provides one forum for staff and students to explore issues and develop strategies to ensure this. Projects and events running throughout the year are another way to get involved.
