On the 5th and 6th of February 2025, Open Innovation Hub Research Coordinator/PDRA Dr. Jontana Allkja attended the first meeting of the Biofilm Regulatory ToolBox Cost action project (CA23152), held at the University of Porto, Portugal.
This cost action project aims to build a European network to modernize biofilm research for regulatory decision-making and bring together biofilm researchers from academia, industry, and regulatory bodies. Its main objectives are to develop innovative tools, standardize methods, and address biofilm-related challenges in health, industry, and the environment. The diversity of researchers, part of this action, will help develop guidance and provide educational initiatives for policy makers, students, and researchers to promote awareness of biofilm challenges and solutions.
The meeting in Porto, provided an excellent opportunity for the action group members to interact, discuss future collaborations and identify key issues for the action to address.
