This module has been designed to enable learners to critically evaluate and appraise advanced and newly emerging radiotherapy technologies and techniques within the context of contemporary radiotherapy practice for the purpose of business planning and innovation.

Who is the module for?

The module is designed for practising, registered healthcare professionals. The module is a standalone option and can be used to support continuous professional development.

Module details and indicative content

Learners will evaluate the advanced and newly emerging radiotherapy technologies, with respect to student’s own experience within their clinical setting and appraise the current national and international approaches to advancing and newly emerging radiotherapy techniques with respect to student’s own clinical practice.

They will be given the tools necessary to synthesise and summarise key critically evaluated and appraised information in a focused and concise manner for advanced and newly emerging radiotherapy technologies and techniques. This allows learners to compare and innovative implementation within their own contemporary clinical setting.

How you are assessed

There is one summative assessment:

  • A literature review, critical appraisal, and evaluation of the evidence base.
