The Principles of Advanced Clinical Practice (HEAL481)
This module has been created to provide health and social care professionals with the opportunity to explore the broader context of professional issues that influence individuals working within an advanced practice role. Learners will develop critical awareness and the ability to evaluate the multidimensional factors that impact upon advanced practice within the current climate of inclusive global health and social care provision.

Who is the module for?
The module is designed for practising, registered healthcare professionals and can be taken as an optional module as part of a wider programme. The module is also available as a standalone option and can be used to support continuous professional development.
Module details and indicative content
Learners will assess the wider political and social issues that impact on the development and implementation of advanced clinical practice in health and social care, and evaluate the accountability, legal and ethical implications of practising as an advanced clinical practitioner.
Additionally you will critically reflect on and identify own personal and professional development needs in relation to an pdvanced Practice role.
How you are assessed
There are two summative assessments
- A production of a 1500-word Personal Development Plan
- A poster presentation
To support summative assessment, there are opportunities to undertake formative assessment.
