Promoting Mental Health and Wellbeing in Healthcare Practice (HEAL 411)
This module has been designed to enable healthcare professionals to develop critical in-depth knowledge of the biopsychosocial factors which contribute to, and impact upon mental health and wellbeing in clinical practice.

Who is the module for?
The module is designed for practising, registered healthcare professionals. The module can be used to support continuous professional development.
Module details and indicative content
Learners will critically discuss the key aspects underpinning mental health promotional activity, strategy, purpose and impact.
You will explore how knowledge of the evidence base underpins the facilitation of holistic person-centred care and the promotion of positive mental health.
In addition, you will be expected to evaluate how biopsychosocial factors and cultural differences can impact upon lifestyles, life choices, life chances and wellbeing in addition to reflecting upon your own personal and professional development and maintained of wellbeing.
How you are assessed
There are two summative assessments:
- A 2,000 word written reflective narrative
- A 30-minute presentation.
To support summative assessment, there are opportunities to undertake formative assessment.
