Negotiated Work-Based Learning
This module has been designed to allow learners to develop a critical approach to the acquisition of enhanced practice and skills in a health and social care setting. Learners can align their studies with their practice-based role which also enables them to develop their project management skills.

Part-time delivery, with the module delivered in one semester. The module runs in semester one.

Who is the module for?
The module is designed for practising, registered healthcare professionals and can be taken as an optional module as part of a wider programme. The module is also available as a standalone option and can be used to support continuous professional development.
Module details and indicative content
Learners will identify an interest linked to their practice, by undertaking the following:
- Critical assessment of different approaches to work-based learning
- Creation of a learning contract
- Critical reflection and evaluation of the development of new practice-based skills
How you are assessed
There is one summative assessment, which has three components:
- Negotiation and writing of a learning contract (2,000 words)
- Critical reflection of practice (3,000 words)
- A portfolio of evidence.
To support summative assessment, there are opportunities to undertake formative assessment.
