The module has been created to enable apprentices, students, and trainee advanced practitioners to gain a critical appreciation, understanding and knowledge of leadership and education in a variety of health and social care settings.

Who is the module for?
The module is designed for practising, registered healthcare professionals. The module can be used to support continuous professional development, as a standalone option or can be studied as part of an MSc / Advanced practice programme.
Module details and indicative content
Learners will evaluate the role and impact of leadership within current health and social care practice and assess theories of leadership and change management and how these impact on healthcare delivery.
Additionally, they will analyse aspects of leadership education and the importance of the learning environment within health and social care practice.
How you are assessed
There are two summative assessments:
- A practical assessment
- The creation of an educational resource.
To support summative assessment, there are opportunities to undertake formative assessment.
