Clinical Skills in Practice for Advanced Practitioners (HEAL483.1)
This module aims to provide learners with the opportunity to develop bespoke, enhanced clinical skills in a variety of healthcare settings that are appropriate to their area of practice and level of competence in order to develop services in line with the NHS long term plan.

Part time delivery, with the module delivered in one semester. The module runs in semester one.

Who is the module for?
The module is designed for practising, registered healthcare professionals and can be taken as an optional module as part of a wider programme. The module can be used to support continuous professional development.
Module details and indicative content
You will examine and evaluate current clinical skills within the context of the learner's own area of practice so as to justify development of an identified clinical skill. In addition, you will critically appraise and manage the development and application of the clinical skills identified safely and competently within the learner's own scope of practice.
How you are assessed
There are two summative assessments:
- A practical assessment – the completion of a competency document
- A 2,500-word Personal Development plan.
To support summative assessment, there are opportunities to undertake formative assessment.
