Module details and indicative content
You will evaluate critically the decision making, risk assessment and therapeutic intervention in relation to the management and holistic care of the patient receiving SACT and examine critically the professional policy, health and safety regulations and legal aspects relating to the administration of systemic anti-cancer therapy.
The assessment components provide you with the opportunity to critically evaluate your own service, with a focus on service improvement, whilst also demonstrating competency in the safe delivery of systemic anti-cancer treatments through completion of the SACT Passport.
How you are assessed
There are three summative assessments:
- A practical assessment – completion of the SACT passport (or evidence of prior completion)
- A 3,000-word written assessment - critical analysis of current practice in relation to service improvement need and potential improvement strategy
- A 20-minute verbal presentation on the topic of service improvement need and potential improvement strategy
A placement may be required to support you with completion of the SACT Passport. This can be undertaken in your place of work or at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. There is a minimum of 75 hours supernumerary to be completed as part of this.
