This module adopts an online approach to consolidate and develop further theoretical knowledge, critical evaluation and appraisal skills associated with image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) and adaptive radiotherapy (ART).
Who is the module for?
The module is aimed at health care professionals and anyone with an interest in radiotherapy and the use of technology in cancer care. The module can be used to support continuous professional development.
Module details and indicative content
Learners will critically examine the current national guidance and evidence base relating to the use of image-guided and adaptive radiotherapy, with respect to their own current practice.
You will also evaluate the techniques and technologies presently used compared with alternative, emerging and advancing techniques and technologies used in image-guided and adaptive radiotherapy for a particular cancer site. This will be done with respect to your own current practice and experience within clinical settings.
You will also synthesise and summarise key critically evaluated and appraised information in a focused and concise manner for image-guided and adaptive radiotherapy for comparison and application in the real world.
How you are assessed
There are two summative assessments:
- Presentation of 30 minutes duration.
- Written assessment of 6000-words.
To support summative assessment, there are opportunities to undertake formative assessment.
