Study abroad accommodation
Students studying through the global opportunities programme can apply for a Semester 1, Semester 2 or Full Year accommodation contract.
The University halls of accommodation are a safe and fun way to spend your time in Liverpool.
Please note that for Study abroad semester two student applications we will begin sending offers of accommodation out from the beginning of December to those who have applied.
In the study abroad village (Tudor Close and Melville Grove) you will live with other international students as well as University of Liverpool home students who will study abroad this year or have just returned. You will have all the benefits of living on campus being close to your lectures, libraries, cafes, restaurants, shops and a short walk away from Liverpool City Centre and all the city has to offer.
You will also benefit from many activities and events organised by the halls life team, creating exciting opportunities to engage with other students from the UK and all over the world. More information can be found on the Halls Life Platform

How do I apply for accommodation?
After you formally accept your offer to study with us you will be able to apply for University Accommodation via the Accommodation Portal, accessed through your Liverpool Life account.
You will need your student ID number, this is a 9-digit number starting “20” and may be referred to as a reference. You can find this in your offer letter.
After you visit Liverpool Life, click “Set pin for the first time” and instructions will be sent to you within 24 hours on how to set up your PIN. When you have logged in, click “Continue to your application” under the accommodation section place an application under 2023-24 and ensure you select the correct application route;
Semester 1 – This is for students who require accommodation in Liverpool for the first semester (September – January).
Semester 2 – This is for students who require accommodation from the second semester (January – June)
Full Year – This is students who are studying in the Global Opportunities/Study Abroad programme for the full year. You will be housed on a 39-week contract with first-year undergraduate students.
After receiving an Accommodation offer you must accept or decline within the deadline.
Accommodation Guarantees
- If you are staying for the full academic year, you are guaranteed accommodation in the University of Liverpool accommodation provided you have applied before 31 July
- If you are staying for Semester 1 only, you can apply for one of the rooms available in the Study Abroad Villages only (Tudor Close & Melville Grove). Accommodation isn’t guaranteed for Semester 1 students and is limited. You should apply as early as you are able. Accommodation will be allocated randomly to make the process as fair as possible and offers will be sent out in mid-July once your place is confirmed. We also allocate some rooms outside of the Study Abroad Village once this is filled.
- If you are staying for Semester 2 only, you are guaranteed a place in University of Liverpool Accommodation, or with our University Approved Providers. There is no specific deadline to apply for accommodation, however, it is best to apply early to receive one of your preferred halls/rooms. Where possible you will be placed in the Study Abroad Village, however, you also have options to stay in our other halls such as Crown Place, Philharmonic Court and Vine Court. If you wish to take up your place, apply via Liverpool Life.

- If you have made other arrangements for accommodation please decline the accommodation offer and notify the accommodation office.

Semester 1 19 Weeks 14 September 2024 – 25 January 2025
Semester 2 20 Weeks 25 January 2025 – 14 June 2025
Full Year 39 Weeks 14 September 2024 – 14 June 2025
We are unable to facilitate early arrivals for Semester 2 students due to the quick turnaround from the departures of Semester 1. Please take this into consideration when making your travel arrangements.
