Non-Alcohol Flats
Is a non-alcohol flat for me?
In 2024 we piloted allocating some non-alcohol flats within our halls - these have run successfully for students that opted for them so we have opted to keep them as an option for 2025 entry.
When you make your accommodation application within Liverpool Life - if you wish to be placed in a non-alcohol flat you will see a few room options for you to choose from that include 'non-alcohol' in the preference route.
At current this option is only available to foundation and first year undergraduate students.
You can choose preferences of a Crown Place Deluxe Ensuite, Philharmonic Premier Ensuite, Greenbank Premier Ensuite and Melville Single Non-Ensuite. Please note that the preference of non-alcohol will be prioritised over room preferences. Neither one is guaranteed - we will try our best to meet your needs however in some circumstances this may not be possible.
Non-Alcohol flats are allocated cluster by cluster, so there will be other spaces on your floor and in your building where alcohol will be consumed.
Non-Alcohol flats are allocated on the student’s request to be in a no alcohol living environment, and we expect you to be living with other students who have a similar outlook on alcohol as yourself. We cannot guarantee that this means they will void of any alcohol due to the student residents’ behaviours and expectations. If you have concerns around this, you can contact your Residential Adviser who can come and speak to the flat about this.
If you decide at any point that you would like a room move, there is no guarantee we will be able to offer you another room in a Non-Alcohol flat due to spaces being limited across campus halls and Greenbank Student Village.
